Low-Cost Spay & Neuter for Greene County Pet Owners
Affordable surgery at Pets Alive Indiana, just 50 minutes from Linton via SR 67 South
Greene County carries the weight of its coal mining heritage in quiet, practical ways. The communities of Linton, Bloomfield, and Jasonville are tight-knit and resourceful — people here know the value of a dollar and are not inclined to overpay when a better option exists. That is precisely what Pets Alive Indiana is. Located in Bloomington, just 50 minutes southeast on SR 67, our nonprofit clinic offers cat spay and neuter at $90 and dog spay and neuter at $130, with no income verification and no residency requirement. If you have a pet in Greene County, you are welcome here — full stop.
Accessible veterinary care has historically been harder to come by in rural Indiana counties like Greene, where the nearest full-service vet may charge three or four times what we charge for the same surgery. We were founded in 2005 specifically to bridge that gap, and in over 20 years of operation we have performed more than 230,000 spay and neuter surgeries for Indiana families. Our 4.8-star Google rating speaks to what those families experienced: efficient, professional care at a price point that makes sense. Greene County clients have been a meaningful part of our patient community for years.
The drive from Linton follows SR 67 South directly into Bloomington — it is not a complicated route, and the road condition is generally good year-round. Bloomfield residents are similarly positioned and access the same route from the north end of the county. Jasonville, a bit further west, can come in on SR 54 to pick up the SR 67 corridor. Drop your pet off in the morning, head back to Bloomington's coffee shops or parks if you prefer not to make two full trips, and pick them up same-day. It is that simple.

No. Pets Alive Indiana serves pet owners from across the state. There are no residency requirements and no income verification. Everyone is welcome, whether you live in Linton, Bloomfield, Jasonville, or any other part of Greene County.
Anyone can use Pets Alive Indiana. We do not check income, we do not ask for proof of financial hardship, and we do not have means-tested eligibility. Our mission is simply to make spay and neuter surgery accessible and affordable for every pet owner in Indiana. Whether you are struggling financially or just value getting a fair price for good work, you are welcome at our clinic.
We are a spay and neuter focused clinic, not a full-service general practice. We do not treat illnesses, perform dental cleanings, or handle emergencies. Our surgeons focus exclusively on reproductive surgeries, which is why we are able to do them so well and so affordably. If your pet has health concerns beyond spay and neuter, we recommend establishing care with a general practice veterinarian in your area as well.
Drop-off is in the morning at our Bloomington clinic. You bring your pet, check in with our staff, complete a brief intake form, and pay at that time. We will provide an estimate of when your pet will be ready for pickup — typically early to mid afternoon. You will receive a call when they are ready. Pickup is at the same location. We send you home with written aftercare instructions for the recovery period.
Complications from spay and neuter surgery are rare, but we take post-operative care seriously. If you notice anything concerning after your pet goes home — excessive swelling, bleeding, lethargy, or other unusual symptoms — contact us at (812) 349-1349 during clinic hours. For after-hours emergencies, we recommend contacting a local emergency veterinary clinic in your area. We will provide written post-op instructions at pickup so you know exactly what to watch for.
